PLEASURES, the arty, punkish maven of streetwear, tends to have a high-concept attitude to each one of its collections. Its last line was focused specifically on the years 1994-1998, which was wrought in a variety of pastel colors and its characteristically inspired graphics. For its newest collection, the brand has enlisted LA-based artist Brvinfreeze and has turned its sights to a far more contemporary setting. Which is to say, the newest collection is inspired by how fucked up our current times are. The brand and artist titled the line “CRUEL WORLD,” and is comprised of a set of washed-out crew necks, twill shorts and oversized T-shirts. The graphics all come courtesy of Brvinfreeze, who created the graphics from images he initially shot on fully expired film. These graphics are stitched on each one of the pieces, with the grim collection name appearing prominently on shorts and shirts alike. Look out for Brvinfreeze x PLEASURES to drop on the PLEASURES online store.
